Ranvet's founder and principal technical adviser Dr. Percy Sykes, AM, M.R.C.V.S., M.A.C.V.Sc, a highly respected veterinary surgeon and world authority on the high performance horse, worked with high profile trainers who also appreciated that race horses are trained in an unnatural environment producing continual physical and mental stress. Working in close liaison with such legendary trainers as the late Tommy Smith and Melbourne Cup King, Bart Cummings, Dr Sykes has identified the specific needs of the high performance race horse. 

The product and technical information included on this website is the result of research in respect of high performance and high value horses and dogs. The needs of athletic animals engaged in recreational pursuits are similar and accordingly the majority of Ranvet's products are ideally suited for use with all active animals. In addition to feed supplement and medication, Ranvet also market a range of specialty veterinary pharmaceuticals, which includes equine stomach ulcer treatment and a range of anabolic steroids.

Since 1960 the Company has continued to research the science of horse training and has designed, tested, refined and then marketed products to satisfy the most specific needs of the performance horse. After more than 40 years producing product for the equine athlete, Ranvet has now formulated a range of products for the greyhound racing industry.
