These moments matter the most to me because to me they highlight my own personal growth and progression as a rider.

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE/ FAVOURITE MOTTO

Personally, my favourite quote would have to be “Stars can’t shine without darkness”, as it says that everyone has rough or hard times that they go through, but that it is still possible to shine and come through all that better off in the end.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY WITH HORSES…

  • When did you start riding/how long have you been riding for?

My family background with horses stems from camp drafting, and I began riding my first pony at the young age of four. I grew up doing stock work on horseback and by the age of eight I was taking my ponies to pony club and competing in local shows.

  • Are you a member of Pony Club/ riding club?

Although growing up riding at Pony Club I am not involved currently, however I am a member of Toowoomba Jump Club which is my home ground for events!

  • Have you always competed in the discipline you do now?

I began eventing when I started competing in Interschool events while I was in high school, however I also competed in a variety of other disciplines including dressage, showjumping, combined training and showman. I thoroughly enjoyed competing in a diversity of disciplines, though my passion lay within eventing!

  • Introduce your team of horses-what are their names, what breed are they?

Dream Recurring, aka Dream, who is a thoroughbred.
Dash of Sass, aka Annie, who is also a thoroughbred.

  • Your most memorable career highlight to date

Equestriad 2020 Annie finished on her dressage score to come 3rd in the Jnr EvA95 this being one of my last events as a junior rider and at SIEC in February 2021 Dream came 6th in the Ev95 which was a massive personal success as exactly two years prior he had injured himself and the likelihood of him ever jumping again was slim. So, to have him back eventing again is so special! I find every day riding these two such great experiences to learn and grow as a rider and love the mini wins and achievements from day to day riding too.

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE/ FAVOURITE MOTTO

My biggest piece of advice is to ride the highs and lows. So often you can be caught feeling that things just are not going your way but with hard work, your effort will eventually pay off – so keep pushing!
