Provides a supplementary supply of the essential body salts, potassium, magnesium, sodium and chloride, to meet the elevated requirements of racing greyhounds. Potassium is essential for normal muscle contraction, heart function, and maintaining fluid balance. Sodium is important for correct electrolyte balance and regulation of body fluids. Magnesium is a trace element required for nervous system, enzyme function, muscle tone, and blood pH balance. More vitamins are needed (especially B group) when athletic animals are racing and working hard.

Adequate levels of these important vitamins may not be provided by the diet alone. Daily administration of Salka-Lite will ensure that any dietary deficiencies in these vitamins is corrected.

Vitamin E - A major antioxidant protects the cell membranes. Performance greyhounds require greater amounts of anti-oxidant nutrients in order to combat the very high level of toxic free radicals produced during intense exercise. It assists circulation, cell oxygenation, fertility.

Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) - Is directly involved in the production of anti-stress hormones any slight deficiency will cause the greyhound to be unable to cope with the challenge of stress. It causes the body to produce higher strength collagen, which is the strengthening protein in ligaments and tendons and helps increase the red blood cells ability to carry oxygen.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) - The major role of Vitamin B1 is in carbo-hydrate metabolism and nerve transmission. Since carbohydrate metabolism is increased during physical exertion, it is important that adequate dietary B1 is available to the high performance greyhound. Hard exercise and growth increase the need for dietary B1.Unruly and nervous, highly strung greyhounds have been shown to benefit from a high level intake of Vitamin B1.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) - Promotes growth of skin, hair and nails, essential for healthy eyes, red blood cells, and immune system.

Vitamin B3 (Niacin) - Essential for effective protein and carbohydrate metabolism, nervous system, assists circulation.
