Potassium For Greyhounds

with Magnesium, Zinc & Vitamin E

Potassium has a role in muscular contraction, nerve function and relaxation of the heart muscle in dogs

Ranvet’s K-Max supplies a palatable, supplementary source of Potassium, Magnesium, Zinc and Vitamin E for racing greyhounds where dietary levels may be low.

While Potassium, Magnesium & Zinc are essential minerals, Potassium has a role in maintaining cellular integrity and healthy nerve and muscle function. It is involved in the normal digestion and utilization of dietary nutrients. Magnesium is involved in maintenance of nervous function. Both Magnesium and Zinc have a role in general metabolism and development of bone. Vitamin E provides an antioxidant defence mechanism for optimal muscle cell function.

Greyhounds are unable to conserve potassium as efficiently as other body salts. Panting, hard-walking and muscular effort all lead to potassium excretion through the kidneys. Potassium is the electrolyte most likely to become depleted by hard exercise, travelling, barking and panting, particularly in nervous dogs. Low blood potassium can result in dehydration and poor performance. Ranvet’s K-Max will provide a supplementary source of potassium, together with other essential trace nutrients, to combat dietary deficiencies in hard working greyhounds.
