Ranvet's Muscle-G has been formulated to
help protect performance greyhounds from muscle damage which can lead to
soreness, stiffness, fatigue and in severe cases of tying-up.
Peak athletic performance requires strong, healthy muscles and Muscle-G
provides a blend of organic Selenium, Vitamin E, organic Chromium,
Thiamine and Choline to ensure optimum muscle health and nutrition.
During exercise muscle cells "burn" nutrients from food,
together with oxygen, to fuel muscle contraction in a process known as
"oxidation". During oxidation, toxic by-products called
"free radicals" are produced.
These substances can damage
muscle cell walls and interfere with cell energy production if they are
not quickly neutralized and destroyed by anti-oxidants such as Selenium
and Vitamin E. This damage is seen as muscle soreness and stiffness and
loss of muscle strength and stamina.
The two powerful anti-oxidants Selenium and Vitamin E are the key
ingredients in Ranvet Muscle-G.
Selenium and Vitamin E are the two major anti-oxidants which neutralize
toxic free radicals. They work together to quickly neutralize these
toxic by-products produced during the oxidation process. Selenium exerts
its effect inside the muscle cells, while Vitamin E protects the cell
membranes. Performance greyhounds require greater amounts of
anti-oxidant nutrients in order to combat the very high level of toxic
free radicals produced during intense exercise. Adequate quantities of
Selenium and Vitamin E are not usually provided by feed alone, so
supplementation is required. Ranvet Muscle-G provides a very high level
of Vitamin E ( 2000 iu per 30g dose) together with an organic form of
readily bioavailable Selenium for muscle protection and recovery after
exercise. As well as protecting muscle cells, the Selenium and Vitamin E
in Muscle-G also protect other body cells including those in the immune
system, the reproductive tract and the blood, helping to maintain
immunity, fertility and optimum blood counts.
Muscle-G provides organic Chromium for muscle strength and
endurance.
Muscle-G contains the trace mineral Chromium in an organic, readily
bioavailable form. Chromium enhances the effect of the hormone insulin,
increasing the uptake of glucose and amino acids into muscle cells. This
improves the nutritional supply to the muscle promoting lean muscle
development. During fast exercise, Chromium supplementation also slows
the build-up of blood lactic acid, one of the major contributors to
muscle fatigue. Thiamine and Choline are included in the formulation to
enhance energy production and liver function. Thiamine ( Vitamin 81) is
essential for muscle energy production as it plays an important role in
the metabolism of carbohydrates from feed into "fuel" for
working muscles. Thiamine cannot be stored in the body, so a regular
dietary intake is essential for all performance greyhounds. Muscle-G
provides supplementary Thiamine for hard working greyhounds together
with Choline for optimum liver function.

Directions for use: Muscle-G
should be administered DAILY to working, breeding and growing
greyhounds. The prescribed dose should be mixed -- thoroughly through
the feed. Avoid mixing Muscle-G into feeds containing Iron supplements
as this may reduce the potency of the vitamins in the formulation.
Dose Rates:
Greyhounds in work: 1 to 2 measures (give 2 measures
to greyhounds with a history of muscle problems)
Dogs at stud: 1 to 4 measures
Pregnant bitches: 1 to 4 measures
Pups: 1 to
2 measures
Spelling greyhounds: 1 measure.
A measuring spoon is provided.
One level measure provides 4g.
