Ranvet 500 Plus, Iron Plus, Folactin, Settle'Em, Ulcer, Yellow Lotion

Divisive wins the Victorian Derby

August 2005 Unsolicited testimonial

To whom it may concern,

I am a small-time breeder of (Arabian) horses and I have a mare due to foal in early October.

I am contacting you because I used your products (Ranfac, Folactin and Iron Plus) when I bred my first foal and his growth was perfect - even and 'fit not fat'. My vet was very impressed with his development and so was I.

Your telephone staff helped me tailor a program that was ultimately successful.

When I bred my second foal, some experienced friends of mine (who also owned the feed store I frequented) suggested I use the Mitavite products exclusively as they had found these had given them good results and were more cost effective. I went with this advice and I regret it terribly!

I used Breeda and lucerne as directed by their staff. This colt's growth was uneven (fits and spurts) and he developed (after weaning onto same products I had the mare on) angular limb deformities. He will never be properly sound and is now a useless 'pet' and companion for his father (the first foal mentioned above).

[I followed the program to the letter although, in truth, I know of no-one else who had this problem].

So, for foal number three, it is obvious I will be going with Ranvet again! You have many new products available now and I'm not sure what is best to use in my situation.

The feeds I use are Robank's "Ralvon Mix" see details below (attachment) and Ezi Cube lucerne silage. I add a small amount of Copra Cool fuel for extra energy/warmth. They get some 'pick' off our small acreage but it is mostly weed or poor pasture [and now, due to drought virtually non-existent anyway!]. I have two mares (one in foal, due Oct), a stallion and the poor unfortunate 2yo mentioned above. They are all good 'doers' and are perhaps slightly porky in condition!

My main concern is the pregnant mare. I aim to put both mares in foal this season.

Your advice will be appreciated! Sincerely,

Kate Carolan, Zadahan Arabians

Settle'Em testimonial

Suffice to say there has been a huge improvement in the horse and the way he is working and coping with things. He still sifts the feed occasionally but if you leave the stuff in the feed bin and add a little molasses to make it stick he soon cleans it up.

The improvement has been so good he was sashed Champion Galloway at Launceston Royal Show on Wednesday. So thanks very much for your advice, it seems to have kicked in just when I needed it. He has been such a nervous, hot, temperamental horse that I have been at my wits end with him. I bred him, we have a RP stallion and use him over our TB mares. He was out of a good mare I had that had a superb temperament but his grandsire on the RP side was a little hot and I think he may just have thrown back to him somehow. All our TB mares are picked for temperament and confirmation.

Thanks again for the advice and for posting the info on the product in the first place. I will put a message on the thread so others can see the result, but I won't boast about his big win, just wanted you to know that.

Cheers,
Tania.

Ulcerguard testimonial

We didn't know what was wrong. Then we found she had ulcers. We tried everything but nothing worked. Now she's like a brand new horse with the best temperament out.

My vet did a course last week which identified (we think) my mare as a prime candidate for ulcers. They apparently are very common in horses that have had a sudden transition from all work to no work as you do with racehorses coming off the track.

The mare was racing until the end of July where she was turned out in the middle of an Otago NZ (lots of snow) winter with no rug (she was clipped) no weaning off her feed, and certainly had gone from full work to none at all. I looked at her for a jumper in August and she still looked okay then, condition wise. I paid for her and it was a month before she was dropped off. She was a complete skeleton and to boot she was lame.

I managed to sort out her abscesses, which had her lame for two weeks until they blew out (with much Epson salts and antibiotics)! We thought that was why she was so light, as having the infection and the change of scenery would have thrown her out for a while. Another two weeks and I gave her selenium/vitamin E injections; she had a multi-mineral injection each week for three weeks and a worm injection as well. She was wormed every three weeks and was in cattle feed as well! Plus being hard fed morning and night.

We then went for the blood test, which was completely clear, then the anabolic steroid paste to stimulate the amino acids in her stomach and aid with her digestion (she wasn't eating much). Still no luck. She is not a candidate for scooping (plus there is not one in Otago NZ long enough) so my vet flew in a paste called Ulcerguard from Australia. She is on that as of yesterday and hopefully we should see an improvement by Friday that is the recommended "pick up" time.

So a long story short I bought a very sad mare who had just finished racing and took 4-5 months worth of having the vet out every fortnight to diagnose and treat her. My vet had just been on a course for ulcers when he suggested trying the treatment, he had suggested it previously but we discounted it.

Anyway I tried it for three days at 15/20ml three times a day and what an improvement. The photos can't show you her increased appetite, her bright eyes, her galloping up the paddock and her shiny shiny coat. Within the week she had fat on her ribs and was beginning to show a topline. A month later I was riding her and she was fine. Basically she is now 7 years old, and is eventing with a 14-year-old girl in Dunedin New Zealand. They've had no more trouble with her weight and she has the best temperament out.

What the Trainers say...........

"Our horse went from a maiden of 22 starts to winning eight out of its next 16 including the Albury Cup after Ulcerguard treatment".
Joe Cleary, NSW

"Thinking about sacking your horse on poor performance? Before you do, give it a course of Ulcerguard and watch it improve eight lengths."
Paul Sutherland, Rosehill

"I got a horse that wouldn't eat, looked terrible and was cranky as all hell. I put it on Ulcerguard and its eating habits, appearance and appetite all changed. Its now settled into stable life."
Gerald Ryan

"I always knew Corporate Bruce had plenty of ability, but never felt I had him right. I got him 'scoped to find Grade II ulcers and put him on Ulcerguard. His coat dappled and he is carrying more condition than he ever was. His track work is greatly improved and in his two starts this campaign he has won both of the winter principal sprint races at Belmont Park. He continues to thrive on a maintenance program."
Hec McClaren, WA

"For one month we had 8 runners with 6 winners after they'd had a course of Ulcerguard It's the best product I've used in 10 years to get horses to run to their potential."
Mark Young, Geelong

"You can definitely tell when they're not on it. Ulcerguard should be standard in every stable."
Paul O'Sullivan, Matamata, NZ

"It turned a barrier rogue - on the point of being barred - into a winning horse. After Ulcerguard treatment I don't have to work them as hard."
Paul Mitchell

"It's a great attitude changer. I put the horses on Ulcerguard today and they lick out the feed tin tomorrow."
Peter Staunton

Yellow Lotion testimonial

I would like to write to let you know how impressed I am with Yellow Lotion. I have a very valuable Arabian show mare who has had quite a successful career up until one month ago when she sustained a horrible cut to her off hind leg. I was devastated. I purchased a bottle of Yellow Lotion (I found out about this product through a first aid magazine). The wound is almost fully healed leaving little scarring if any. I cannot believe how healthy the wound became after only three days of use. I will tell everyone I know how good this product is. I have breeding horses and show horses. I would love to know about other products that you have available.
