Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)
The major role of Vitamin B1 is in carbo-hydrate metabolism and nerve transmission. Since carbohydrate metabolism is increased during physical exertion, it is important that adequate dietary B1 is available to the high performance greyhound. Hard exercise and growth increase the need for dietary B1.Unruly and nervous, highly strung greyhounds have been shown to benefit from a high level intake of Vitamin B1.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
Riboflavin's role is in carbohydrate metabolism and utilization of feed intake. Along with other B Complex Vitamins it is required for growth and by greyhounds subjected to physical stress.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)
Pyridoxine, in association with Niacin, is involved in energy production and blood formation, both important functions in the high performance greyhound.

Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin)
Vitamin B12 is important in feed utilization through its involvement in protein, carbo-hydrate and fat metabolism. In conjunction with Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 is involved in blood cell production and helps guard against anaemia.

Niacin (Nicotinic Acid)
The high performance greyhound has a definite requirement for this water-soluble Vitamin which is used in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and amino acids to energy.

Pantothenic ACID
Pantothenic Acid is involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats to energy.

Folic Acid
In combination with Vitamin B12, Folic Acid is involved in blood cell production. It is used to prevent and treat anaemia.

Chromium (organic)
Supplementing the diet with the trace mineral Chromium benefits the high performance greyhound in so far as there is less fat to muscle development; it promotes increased energy metabolism and reduces lactic acid accumulation during fast work .

Copper (organic)
Copper is required for bone development, joint cartilage, elastic connective tissue and the uptake and utilization of iron.

Zinc (organic)
The trace mineral Zinc is necessary for the maintenance and development of skin and hair. It is essential for the proper formation of bone and cartilage.

Iodine
Late pregnant bitches are very susceptible to Iodine deficiency and the pups of affected bitches may be born dead or too weak to suck.

Daily supplementation with Ranvet VitaMax provides additional Vitamins and trace minerals to help meet the increased demands on mature greyhounds in training and racing. The 10 different Vitamins enriched with complex organic Chromium, Copper, Selenium and Zinc help meet the increased nutritional requirements, support rapid growth in young greyhounds and to help overcome the stress of infection.
