Hydroxy P500 assists the natural hormone
function of the individual mare and imparts an increased settling effect
on the uterus, preparing it for the attachment of the embryo; and is
indicated as routine procedure for many mares during the breeding
season. In such cases, it is usual to administer one dose of Hydroxy P
as soon as the mare ovulates after being served.
In instances where an abortion threatens, additional therapy with
Hydroxy P is advisable as a routine safeguard. This will be of
considerable benefit at the acknowledged "danger periods" of
the pregnancy.
For mares with a history of slipping their foals, continuous
administration throughout the pregnancy, at intervals of 4 weeks, is
advised. At the discretion of the attending veterinarian, such therapy
is normally stopped 6-8 weeks prior to foaling.
Administration: 5ml
by the I.M route every 4 weeks, as directed by the veterinarian.
