AeroHippus
Equine Aerosol Chamber is used along with a Metered Dose
Inhaler (MDI), also known as a puffer, to deliver aerosol
medication to your horse.
Respiratory problems may temporarily or permanently reduce
the anticipated performance levels. |

Respiratory disease in
equines affects the ability of the horse to be a good
recreational or performance horse. The equine ventilatory environment and
exposure to recurring viruses may cause coughing and decreased airway
responsiveness lasting from a few days up to several months.
Progressive clinical signs of this disorder are persistent
with intermittent cough, poor exercise tolerance, appearance
of an abdominal lift and finally severe respiratory
distress.
Traditionally horses were delivered inhaled aerosol
medications via aerosol mask chambers. These chambers are
bulky and can be difficult to use. In addition, some horses
may become quite agitated when the mask is placed over their
muzzle.
This is a convenient, portable chamber which is simply
placed over one of the horse's nostrils. Once the puffer is
depressed the chamber separates the large particles from the
small, breathable particles and holds them suspended until
the horse inhales – allowing for the delivery of medication
to the lungs. Chamber volume is 198mL.
For delivery of medication using a wet aerosol nebuliser or
ultrasonic device use AeroMask.
